The night started with Patti Smith, who was absolutely amazing in her normal way. She had the crowed going and she knows how to work a crowd with participation. Pity she had to leave to let the biggest let down of my life ever, Bob Dylan walked on stage, started singing. No 'Hi I'm Bob Dylan' no 'The band consists of….' Nothing at all, I wasn't impressed, what more is he sounded awful and the venue was way to big for this lousy performance by a washed up old man. I wish they had of just let Patti Smith play the whole night out. Pulp As you probably know 'Brit Pop' is big with bands such as 'Oasis' and 'The Verve' being great hits over the last few years. Well there has been one band there for the last 20 years that has missed a great amount of publicity and credit. Well until songs such as "Do you remember the first time?" and there two big ones "Disco 2000" and "Common People" which put them in the line light for a while. Jarvis Cocker "Pulp's" wonderful and mysterious singer jumps on stage and takes out some children while trying to hit Michael Jackson. Now with a new Album "This is Hardcore" we were treated to a promotional tour here in wonderful Sydney Australia which sold out. That was also played in numerous other major city's around the country as well as at Livid. The concert was an unbelievable showing of great music and a very high energy from a band that is now 20 years old. The sound was brilliant the performance was there to match with a great amount of hip thrusting and great spontaneous movement from a Pop God. The band, were also amazing and were complementary for such a superb performer. The lighting and stage directions was very good, but it the security sucked, as they were always hassling people for doing the usual pop concert rituals. I suggest that you try to get hold of any of their albums and if you ever have a chance you should see this band live at least once in your life. There will be photos added to this review soon. ![]() J.D. Sage brings in one amazing form of acoustic guitar playing with a much an almost unparalleled set of vocals. These combined are work in an extremely powerful way of expressing his disgust for war and destruction. Even with a low quality tape that was done live I have managed to feel the meaning of this music feel the pain that J.D. Sage has seen. I can actually visualise what he is singing about. I turn the bass all the way up. The beat and force makes me feel that I'm in the war zone. The music forces it upon you this is one powerful musician who should be checked out. If you do want to check him out try his home page www.jdsage.com Bauhaus - Crackle Bauhaus are well known as the start of 'Goth' music, which influenced numerous late 1970's and early 80's bands. 'Crackle' is a compilation made from Bauhaus' choices of their favourite hits. This is the only full length CD that contains one of their most prominent pieces "Bela Lugosi's Dead." This would be the best starting point for any one that is interested in listening to Bauhaus for the first time. If you have 'Volume One 1979-1983' it is probably not worth buying except for Bauhaus' version of the famous David Bowie track "Ziggy Stardust".
M&M's Again, yes they have been out rightly WRONG in rising the price of M&M's to $1.50 that is almost double the price of that they were in 1992, I will have to say this again, if a car is to go up from 30,000 to 60,000 for the same or less of a product seen as M&M's have also gone from 60 grams to 55 grams is yet another bad point but back to the car if that was jump in that price for a commodore could you imagine the uproar from the world? Well why not M&M's??? |
